Mars Incorporated to launch Student Scholarships Program

The scholarship program will support family/student facing difficulties in paying tuition fees in respond to the longer-term economic impacts of the COVID 19 pandemic

DATELINE Vancouver, British Columbia -November 26, 2020

Mars Incorporated announced a new student scholarship program to support families/students. The scholarship program has been underway for some time but will be fully launched at the beginning of the winter January 8, 2021. Applications received from student would be process within 14 days upon submissions. For low-income earners and their parents, applying for college has always been a great pressure. University tuition is expensive, and due to insufficient funds, no student should drop out of school. Graduates with professional positions are more conducive to society, the economy and help fill employment gaps

To help address the increased number of student who are forces to defer semester because of lack of funds to pay tuition fees, Mars is starting the student scholarship program to help students continue their education in their eligible college or vocational school programs of choice. Most undergraduates need to work a few hours a week to pay tuition and other school expenses and reduce their dedicated time on school projects. Therefore, the benefits of the scholarship will reduce the working hours of students, give students more time to engage in school work and projects, and improve their grades, thereby providing space for them to get better jobs after graduation.
 
In a statement issued by CEO, Mars Incorporated, Grant F. Reid, “The purpose of learning is growth, and the best way to predict the future is to create it, so giving the student an opportunity to create their future because they are our leader of tomorrow.” The scholarship will be provided to students who study full-time each year, and the student will choose an accredited four-year college or two-year university or vocational school to receive a degree.

For students eligible for the Mars Scholarship Program, they must:

• Applicants must submit a current and complete transcript of their grades.
• Be dependent children of full-time and part-time active Mars employees who have worked for at least one year. A dependent is a natural person and legally adopted child, or the main child raised by a companion by Mars associate.
• The student must be a high school graduate or a high school graduate with a plan to enroll, or have taken a full-time undergraduate study in an accredited educational institution.
•  Students must register or plan to attend a two-year vocational university.
• Any selected recipient, will receive an award ranging from $4,500 to $8,000
